Beauty Haul

Hey Guys!!!

This post will be about my recent beauty products that I purchased online or in the store. In my picformation post I stated that I am a beginner when it comes to makeup. But whatever I learn I will share with you guys so you can build along with me or take from it what you want.
My close friend gave me her old makeup box to hold my little bit of makeup goodies. But as I've been getting more involved in the makeup world my collection began to grow. So I bought a clear stackable organizer from target for about 8.00 dollars. I really liked that it snaps on the side making it very easy to get into and to travel with.

The first thing I am going to talk about is the things I bought from bhcosmetics.com. They had a half off sale the time I purchased these items so I could pass up the opportunity. I bought a 10 color concealer palette for 10.00 $, a empty 15 eyeshadow pro pink palette for 6.57$, 30 single colors for my palette, and the 15 pcs wild purple makeup brush set for 15.00 $.
So far I'm loving everything I bought. I forgot to take pictures my superbowl inspired makeup I did for my ravens. Short story about the palette, the first one I received one side of the mirror was coming off the hinges. So I sent them a email and they sent me out a new one. So I have two palettes filled with my fav colors from them.
My instore purchases were from target. Was 3 e.l.f. professional brushes, their brush shampoo, and daily cleaner. All of these were 3 $ dollars a piece.
Also from online I bought a Phi beauty Flat iron. My old one did me justice for year's but it's time to put her to rest. So I got this of off nomorerack.com for 79% off the original price. Which came to 21 $, so I was very happy about that.

Wash Day @ 25 weeks Post

Yesterday was wash day and I want to keep you guys posted on my transition/stretch. What I do different that works for my hair. Here's how it went:

  1. Pre pooed with Shea Moisture Volumizing Conditioner, The Body Shop Conditioner, H2o Masque, Tea Tree, Simply Organics JBCO, Vitamin E, Argan, Olive, Grape seed, Glycerin, Coconut, And Hydratherma Naturals Growth Oils. When I mixed all this together it came out nice and fluffy which I really liked.
  2. Shampooed 1x with Hydratherma SLS Free Moisture plus Cleanser and 1x with Joico K-pak color therapy shampoo. Rinsed really well. This was the second time I used this cleanser and I'm still very pleased with my hairs outcome once I rinse it out. I'm still thinking if I want to spend the pricey amount for it and make it one of my staple rotating shampoo's. Decisions. Decisions.
  3. Used Tresemme Nourishing Rituals Protein Renewal Crème for 3 minutes as directed on damp hair. Rinsed. This I feel is not a heavy treatment like my Joico Reconstruct
  4. Did my Tea rinse with just Black tea. I left this on for a few seconds before I rinsed it out.
  5. Applied PMSSDT for about 2-3 minutes and rinsed.
  6. Deep Condition with a mix of the rest of the Hydratherma Deep treatment and Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque for about 2-3 hours. Rinsed that out.
  7. I applied my Herbal Essence Split End Protector then the Aunt Jackie's Knot on My Watch Instant De Tangler. Okay I officially dislike this product. Only thing I like about it is the smell. It says to apply generously but that only makes things worst. It seem to create my knots instead of detangling them. When my hair air dries it leaves it stringy and crunchy. I might give it another try on my next wash day by using it in a different way but I'm going to think on it first. It did leave my hair soft and moisturize after I took out my braid out out. So I will see.
  8. Once my hair finished drying I do my usually grease scalp, moisturize, seal, & do protective style of choice. I moisturize with my trusty Cantu Shea Butter Leave in and sealed with Argan oil.

So it was a very relaxed wash day. My next post will be on the Curlkit that I purchase to please my inner PJ. I still have other reviews to post so stay tuned for that.

Wash Day @ 24 Weeks Post

Hey loves

So I wash my hair yesterday. Well I didn't exactly wash it with shampoo, I did a co-wash with the Aunt Jackie's In Control Moisturizing Conditioner. I'm loving this product soooooooooooo much right now. When I use it as a deep conditioner, my hair was so soft after rinsing it out. It also gave my hair really good slip where as I didn't have to use there detangler afterwards. So now I just want to finish the container up to see if I want to continue to use it on wash days. The reason I co-washed this wash day was because my hair didn't feel like it had a lot of product on it. It felt dry and lack of moisture. So here's how yesterday went:

1. Co-wash with the Aunt Jackie's In Control which I left in for about 2-3 minutes before rinsing out.
2. Deep Conditioned with Elasta QP Soy Oyl Deep conditioner. Left this on for about 2-3 Hours, before washing it out in cool water.
3. Massaged the Tresseme Split End Protector Leave-in through out my hair before letting it air dry for the rest of the evening.
4. Greased my scalp with Simply Organics Oils Jamaican Black Castor Oil (Click Link for Review)
5. Moisturized with Cantu Shea Butter Leave-in and braided my hair into four braids.
6. Last I sealed with Argan oil.

A very simple wash day for me.

Review #4: Simply Organic Jamaican Black Castor Oil*

Hey Guys,

I hope every one enjoyed their Valentines day!!! I sure did! Hubby got me a brand new lab top and God knows I needed a new computer after the my last one was sat on. So I will be treating this one lik1e a baby. Off limits to everyone!

Anyway it's review time!!!!

I received Simply Organics Oils last month some time.(click highlighted link) I can't exactly remember. But I have been using it every since. My staple Castor Oil is Jamaican Black Castor Oil. But the Simply Organic is just as good, maybe a little better in my opinion. I've used it for hot oil treatments, to pre poo, and as a sealant. So I kinda went thru my first bottle fast, but my second bottle I slow down and still have half a bottle left, which I usually go thru a bottle in 6-7 weeks if I'm just using it strictly for my scalp and pre poos it can last.
Prices Varies $9.99-$14.99  2oz-8oz

Promises: Simply Organics’ Jamaican Black Castor Oil is derived from the seeds of a Castor plant. Jamaican grown Castor oil seeds are crushed and boiled to extract the Castor oil.  The extra concentration of ash will speed the rate of hair growth and effectiveness upon use of our original Jamaican Black Castor Oil.  Simply Organics Jamaican Black Castor Oil contains no additives or preservatives as it is 100% organic.   Scented Jamaican Black Castor oil only contains natural scented oils.

How to use:
Hair Growth: Apply Jamaican Black Castor oil onto scalp by massaging with fingers and leaving overnight.
Massage: Boil water and set Jamaican Black Castor oil for about 30 seconds the apply oil to area and gently massage.
Eye Brow Growth:  Apply small amounts of Jamaican Black Castor oil to eye brow area. (DO NOT USE SCENTED OILS)
Skin: Jamaican Black Castor oils uses include skin disorders, burns, sunburns, cuts, and abrasions by direct application to the effected area.
Acne: Use vapor to open facial pores (preferably after a hot steamy shower), proceed by applying Jamaican Black Castor oil in a massage style circular motion to effected area. Allow to settle about 10-15 minutes then wash clean.

My Review: I overall love this product from the package to the smell. It has been a staple and it will forever be a staple in my book for good hair growth. I love that the bottle is clear so that you can actually see the product. I would highly recommend this product because they have more variety like the rosemary and extra strength that you can use. Also it can be used for different purposes not just one which adds a plus in my book.

Wash day @ 23 Weeks

So today I used the Hydratherma Naturals from the Dekem Divas box that I received last month. My bottles were both 2oz of a cleanser and a deep conditioner. I was pleasantly surprised and very please with both. I'm going to use it again next wash day and I will give you guys my honest opinion about it. So here's how todays wash day went.
• Pre-poo with Coconut oil, honey, glycerin, argan oil, olive oil, grape seed oil, the last bit of my NTM daily deep conditioner, H2o Masque, and the Hydratherma Naturals Hair Growth oil.
• Shampooed with the Hydratherma Naturals SLS Moisture Plus Hair Cleanser twice. I only used about a quarter size both times and I have the majority of the bottle left, so a little definitely goes a long way. Rinsed.
• Tea rinsed with black tea. Then put Tresemmé smooth & silky conditioner. Rinsed.
• Applied Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Daily Treatment. Left on for about 5 minutes and then rinsed.
• Then I put in the Hydratherma Naturals Moisture Boosting Deep Conditioning Treatment for about 3-4 hours and the rinsed it out in cool water.
• Then I applied a generous amount of Aunt Jackie's Knot on My Watch and de tangled my hair which took about 5 minutes.
• Next I used my Herbal Essences Touchably Smooth Split End Protector. Then I de tangled again for good measure before attempting my very first roller set.
I'm really happy with how it turned out and can't wait to keep trying until I get it down pat. Once it completely
dries I'm going to grease my scalp with Simply Organics JBCO, moisture, and seal. I'll try to post some pics on my progress pics section so stay tuned for that.

Review #3: Curl Prep Sweet Buttah*

Hey guys
Okay I've been using this product for about 2 Weeks now and I'm ready to tell y'all what I think about it!
"For twists, locs, and funky fros"
8oz- $15.00 & $5.00 for shipping
Promises: Do your thing with this creamy concoction. The buttery solution is perfect for hydrating your natural hair and will give you funky two strand twist and more.
Ingredients: Shea butter, Infused Olive oil, Wheat Germ oil, Goats Milk, Marshmallow Root, Emulsified Wax, Stearic Acid, Vitamin E, Preservative, Essential oils.
Paraben, SLS, & Alcohol Free.
My Review: When I open the package I could smell the container before even unwrapping it and to me it smelled lovely. The consistency of it is light and frothy. Not very thick but not to light either that it would be runny like water.
I used the Curl Prep twice on my sons hair and it left his hair very moisturize. It did feel dry the next day but my son is 20 months so you know how that is you can only do but so much to keep the moisture in.
For me I used it on freshly washed hair, as directed on their website, to moisturize and style my hair in a braid out. I first greased my scalp with the Simply Organics JBCO, applied my split end protector leave in, and then applied the Curl Prep in sections of 8 for my braid out. Then wrapped my hair for the night. When I took down my braids the next day my curls were very well define and soft.
When I wanted to refresh my braid out I simply just added more Curl Prep on the my braids after I braided up my hair. Then used my Spritz to hydrate my new growth. But the next day I noticed my hair felt heavy like I had to much product on it. So I left the Curl Prep alone for the rest of the week and moisturize solely with my Cantu Shea Butter.
Overall I feel this is a excellent moisturizer for my protective styles if used lightly made like 2 times out of my 6 day protective style days. Which be my initial styling day and then a refresher before my next wash day. I love the smell, packaging, and consistency. The pricing is a little high for my set budget but I might bend to use it again. I was satisfied with its job.

Wash day @ 22 Week Post (Saturday)

Hey guys it's wash day!!!
I said in my last post that I was going to use the Hydrathema Naturals today. But I forgot today is my clarifying day. Gotta make sure you rid your hair of old product or your hair won't grow. A clean scalp is a healthy growing scalp! Here's a run down.
1. Pre-poo doing a HOT oil treatment with coconut oil, argan oil, simply organics oil JBCO, vitamin e oil, tea tree oil, glycerin, & honey. I heated the oils in the microwave for about 15 second and then added the honey. I seen someone post about just using coconut oil and honey as their Pre-poo so I wanted to try something new with added the honey. I left it in overnight and by morning when I was surprised. My hair. felt nice, coated, and soft. I will be using this option from now on. Rinsed.
2. Shampooed 2x with Giovanni tea tree triple clarifying shampoo. I put 1oz in my squirt bottle with 3oz of water. I do this so it can distribute easily throughout my scalp without it just going to one spot on my head and I have to rub it in causing tangles. Rinsed.
3. I did a hard protein treatment with
my Joico K-pak Reconstruct protein treatment which I left on for 5 minutes as directed. Rinsed.
4. Tea rinse with both black & green tea. I didn't really leave in for long after I put my Tressemè conditioner over top of it. Rinsed.
5. I applied my PMSSDT for about 5 minutes as well. Rinsed.
6. Deep conditioned with my Elasta QP only nothing else. Left it on for about 3-4 hrs with and without heat. Rinsed.
7. Applied leave-ins with right now it is Tressemè split end protector. Sealed with the Hydratherma oil and left air dry.
Once it was about 95% dry I used Curl Prep Sweet Buttah as a styler/moisturizer to do my braid out. (Review coming soon) Then sealed that in with argan oil. Thats how my wash day went! Feel free to tell me about yours!!!
